Ramin Ahmadi, MD, is the Chair of Medical Education, Research and Global Health for Western Connecticut Health Network (WCHN). Under Dr. Ahmadi’s leadership, the global health program strengthens the network's standing as a leading teaching and research institution and regional medical center.
With Dr. Ahmadi as the Principal Investigator, Danbury Hospital received a $5.1 million grant to establish an innovative primary care residency program at a time when the nation faces a severe shortage of primary care physicians that experts predict will soon worsen. Danbury Hospital is one of only two Connecticut institutions and eight in the nation to receive funding for a primary care residency program from the Health Resources and Services Administration in the US Department of Health and Human Services.
Dr. Ahmadi is an affiliate with the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He is also a poet, having published his poems and short stories in Persian journals.
